Genesis 39
1 and Joseph was brought down
Egypt ward; and Potiphar is buying him, eunuch of Pharaoh, chief of the
executioners, man Egyptian, from hand of the Ishmaelites,
who brought him down there ward. 2 and Yahweh is becoming with Joseph; and he
is becoming man prospering and in house of his lords, the Egyptian. 3 and his lords
is seeing, that Yahweh with him; and all which he doing, Yahweh prospering in his
hand. 4 and Joseph is finding favor in his eyes; and he is ministering him; and
he is making him supervisor over his household; and all there is to him, he
gave in his hand. 5 and it is becoming from then (he made him supervisor in his
house, and over all, which there is to him), and Yahweh
is blessing household of the Egyptian in due to Joseph; and it is becoming
blessing of Yahweh in all which there is to him, in house and field. 6 and he
is leaving all which to him in hand of Joseph; and not knew with him anything
except only the bread, which he eating; and Joseph was lovely of shape and
appearance. 7 and it is becoming after these things, and woman of his lords is
lifting her eyes to Joseph; and saying: lie down with me! 8 and he is refusing
and saying to woman of his lords: behold! My lord not knows with me, what in
the house? And all which there is to him, he gave in my hand. 9 there is no him
great in this house from me, and not he kept back from me anything, except only
you; in which you his woman; and how I shall do this great evil? And I sin to
Elohim. 10 and it is becoming, as to speak of her to Joseph day, day; and not
he listened to her, to lie down beside her, to be with her. 11 and it is
becoming as this day, the house ward, to do his work; and there is no man from
mortals of the household there in house. 12 and she is grasping him in his
cloak, to say: lie down with me! And he is leaving his cloak in her hand and fleeing,
and going forth the outside ward. 13 and it is becoming, as to see of her, that
he left his cloak in her hand, and is fleeing the outside ward. 14 and she is
calling to mortals of her household, and saying to them, to say: see, he
brought to us man Hebrew to make fun in us; he came to me, to lie down with me,
and I am calling in voice loud. 15 and it is becoming, as to hear him, that I
raised high my voice, and am calling: and he is leaving his cloak beside me,
and fleeing, and going forth the outside ward. 16 and she is leaving his cloak
beside her, until to enter his lords to his house. 17 and she is speaking to
him as these words, to say: the Hebrew servant, whom you brought to us, came to
me, to make fun in me. 18 and it is becoming, as to raise high of me my voice and
I am calling, and he is leaving his cloak beside me, and fleeing the outside
ward. 19 and it is becoming as to hear his lords words of his woman, which she
spoke to him, to say: as these words your servant did to me; and it is being
hot, his anger. 20 and lords of Joseph is taking him and giving him to house of
the curve, place which ones being bound, prisoners of the king, ones being
bound, and he is becoming there in house of the curve. 21 and Yahweh is
becoming with Joseph, and he is stretching out to him kindness; and he is
giving him favor in eyes of chief of house of the curve. 22 and chief of house
of the curve is giving in hand of Joseph all the prisoners, who in house of the
curve; and all which ones doing there, he was doing. 23 there is no chief of
house of the curve seeing any of anything in his hand. 24 in which Yahweh with
him, and which he doing, Yahweh prospering.
