Genesis 29
1 and Jacob is lifting his feet
and is going land ward sons of east. 2 and he is seeing, and behold, well in
the field! And behold, there three droves of flock reclining on her! That from
the well the she they are giving to drink the droves,
and the stone great on mouth of the well. 3 and they were gathered there ward
all the droves, and rolled the stone from on mouth of the well, and gave to
drink the flock; and they restored the stone on mouth of the well, to her place.
4 and Jacob is saying to them: my brothers, from where you? And they are saying:
from Haran we. 5 and he is saying to them: you know Laban, son of Nahor? And
they are saying: we know. 6 and he is saying to them: well to him? And they are
saying well! And behold, Rachel, his daughter coming with the flock! 7 and he
is saying: behold, still the day great! Not time to be gathered the cattle;
give to drink the flock! And go! Graze! 8 and they are saying: not we are able
until which they are being gathered all the droves; and they roll the stone
from on mouth of the well, and we give to drink the flock. 9 still him speaking
with them, and Rachel came with the flock which to her father (that she
shepherdess). 10 and it is becoming, as which Jacob saw Rachel, daughter of
Laban, brother of his mother; and flock of Laban, brother of his mother, and Jacob
is coming close, and rolling the stone from on mouth of the well, and giving to
drink flock of Laban, brother of his mother. 11 and Jacob is kissing to Rachel
and lifting his voice and weeping. 12 and Jacob is telling to Rachel, that he brother
of her father, and that son of Rebecca, and she is running and telling to her
father. 13 and it is becoming, as Laban to hear report of Jacob, son of his
sister; and he is running to meet him, and he is embracing him and kissing him,
and bringing him to his house; and he is relating to Laban all these things. 14
and Laban is saying to him: yea, my bone and my flesh you; and he is dwelling
with him month of days. 15 and Laban is saying to Jacob: ? that you my brother,
and you serve me gratuitously? Tell to me! What your hire?. 16 and to Laban two
daughters; name of the great one Leah, and name of the small one Rachel. 17 and
eyes of Leah tender ones, and Rachel was lovely of shape and lovely of
appearance. 18 and Jacob is loving Rachel, and saying: I shall serve you seven
years in Rachel, your daughter, the small one. 19 and Laban is saying: good me to
give her to you, from to me give her to another man; dwell with me! 20 and Jacob
is serving in Rachel seven years (and they are becoming in his eyes as days
ones, in to love him her). 21 and Jacob is saying to Laban: grant my woman! That
my days are fulfilled, and I shall come to her. 22 and Laban is gathering all mortals
of the place, and making feast. 23 and it was in evening, and he is taking Leah,
his daughter; and he is bringing her to him; and he is coming to her. 24 and Laban
is giving to her Zilpah, his maid; to Leah, his
daughter; maid. 25 and it was in morning, and, behold, she Leah; and he is
saying to Laban: what? This you did to me? Not in Rachel I served with you; and
to what you deceived me? 26 and Laban is saying: not it is being done so in our
place, to give the inferior one to faces of the firstborn. 27 fulfill this one week!
And we shall give to you moreover this one in service, which you shall serve
with me further seven years, other ones. 28 and Jacob is doing so, and fulfilling
this one week; and he is giving to him Rachel, his daughter, to him for woman.
29 and Laban is giving to Rachel, his daughter, Bilhah, his maid, to her to
maid. 30 and he is coming moreover to Rachel, and loving moreover Rachel, from
Leah; and he is serving with him further seven years, other ones. 31 and Yahweh
is seeing, that Leah hated; and he is opening her womb; and Rachel barren. 32
and Leah is becoming pregnant, and giving birth son; and she is calling his
name Reuben; that she said: that Yahweh saw in my humiliation; that now my man shall
love me. 33 and she is becoming pregnant further, and giving birth son, and saying:
that Yahweh heard, that I hated; and he is giving to me moreover this one; and
she is calling his name Simeon. 34 and she is becoming pregnant further, and giving
birth son, and saying: now the once my man shall be obligated to me, that I
gave birth for him three sons; on so he called his name Levi. 35 and she is
becoming pregnant further, and giving birth son, and saying: the once I shall
acclaim Yahweh; on so she called his name Judah; and she is staying from to
give birth.
