Genesis 28
1 and Isaac is calling to Jacob
and blessing him; and instructing him, and saying to him: not you shall take
woman from daughters of Canaan. 2 rise! Go Padan~Aram
ward, house ward Bethuel, father of your mother! And take for you from there
woman, from daughters of Laban, brother of your mother! 3 and El, Who Suffices,
shall bless you; and make you fruitful, and increase you; and you become to assembly
of peoples. 4 and he shall give to you blessing of Abraham; to you and to your
seed with you; to tenant of you land of your sojournings,
which Elohim gave to Abraham. 5 and Isaac is sending away Jacob; and he is
going Padan~Aram ward to Laban, son of Bethuel, the
Aramean, brother of Rebecca, mother of Jacob and Esau. 6 and Esau is seeing that
Isaac blessed Jacob; and sent him Padan~Aram ward; to
take for him from there woman; in to bless him; and instructing him, to say: not
you shall take woman from daughters of Canaan! 7 and Jacob is listening to his
father and his mother; and going Padan~Aram ward. 8
and Esau is seeing, that evil ones daughters of Canaan in eyes of Isaac, his
father. 9 and Esau is going to Ishmael, and taking Mahalath,
daughter of Ishmael, son of Abraham, sister of Nebaioth,
on his women, to him for woman. 10 and Jacob is going forth from Beer~Sheba,
and going Haran ward. 11 and he is coming in the place, and lodging there; that
the sun set; and he is taking from stones of the place, and placing his
pillows, and lying down in the place the he. 12 and he is dreaming: and behold,
stairway being set up earth ward, and his top touching the heavens ward! And
behold, messengers of Elohim ascending and descending in him! 13 and behold,
Yahweh stationed on him; and he is saying: I Yahweh, Elohim of Abraham, your
father, and Elohim of Isaac; the land which you lying down on; to you I shall
give her, and to your seed. 14 and your seed becomes as soil of the land; and
you breach forth sea ward, and east ward, and north ward, and south rim ward,
and all families of the ground are blessed in you, and in your seed. 15 and
behold, I with you; and I keep you in all which you are going; and I bring you
back to this ground; that not I shall forsake you until which when I do which I
spoke to you! 16 and Jacob is awaking from his sleep; and saying: surely, there
is Yahweh in this place, and not I knew. 17 and he is fearing and saying: what
being feared this place; there is no this but rather house of Elohim, and this
gateway of the heavens! 18 and Jacob is rising early in morning, and taking the
stone, which he placed his pillows; and he is placing her monument; and pouring
oil on her top. 19 and he is calling name of the place the he: Beth-El (and
although Luz to first name of the city). 20 and Jacob is vowing vow to say: if Elohim
is becoming with me; and keeps me in this way, which I going, and gives to me
bread to eat and garment to put on. 21 and I return in peace to house of my
father; and Yahweh becomes to me to Elohim. 22 and this stone which I placed,
monument shall become; house of Elohim; and all which you shall give to me, to
tithe I shall tithe it to you.
