Genesis 22
1 and he is becoming, after the
things the these, and the Elohim probed Abraham, and is saying to Abraham; and Abraham
is saying behold me! 2 and he is saying take, please, your son, your only one, whom
you love: Isaac; and go for you to land of the Moriah, and offer up him there,
for ascent offering, on one of the mountains, which I shall say to you! 3 and Abraham
is rising early in morning, and is saddling his donkey, and taking two of his
lads with him, and Isaac, his son; and splitting woods of ascent offering; and
rising and going to the place, which the Elohim said to him. 4 in the third day;
and Abraham is lifting his eyes and seeing the place from afar. 5 and Abraham
is saying to his lads: sit for you here with the donkey! And I and the lad, we
shall go further thus, and we shall worship and return to you. 6 and Abraham is
taking woods of the ascent offering, and is placing on Isaac, his son; and taking
in his hand the fire and the knife; and two of them are going together. 7 and Isaac
is saying to Abraham, his father, and he is saying: my father; and he is saying:
behold me, my son; and he is saying: behold, the fire and the woods! And where
the flockling for ascent offering? 8 and Abraham is saying: Elohim shall see
for him the flockling for ascent offering, my son; and two of them are going together.
9 and they are coming to the place, which the Elohim said to him and Abraham is
building there the altar; and he is arranging the woods, and trussing Isaac,
his son; and placing him on the altar from above to woods. 10 and Abraham is
stretching forth his hand: and he is taking the knife to slay his son. 11 and messenger
of Yahweh from the heavens is calling to him and saying: Abraham, Abraham; and
he is saying: behold me! 12 and he is saying: must not be you are stretching
forth your hand of to the lad, and must not be you are doing to him anything;
that now I know, that fearing of Elohim you, and not you kept back your only son
from me. 13 and Abraham is lifting his eyes, and seeing, and, behold, ram
behind being held in thicket in his horns! And Abraham is going and taking the
ram; and he is offering him up for ascent offering instead of his son. 14 and Abraham
is calling name of the place the he: Yahweh shall see; which the day is being
said: in mountain of Yahweh shall be seen. 15 and messenger of Yahweh is
calling to Abraham second from the heavens. 16 and he is saying: in me I swear:
averment of Yahweh: that because which you did the thing the this, and not you
kept back your only son. 17 that to bless I shall bless you; and to increase I
shall increase your seed; as stars of the heavens and as sand which on shore of
the sea; and seed of you shall tenant gate of ones being his enemies. 18 and all
of nations of the earth bless themselves in your seed; inasmuch which you
listened in my voice. 19 and Abraham is returning to his lads; and they are
rising, and they are going together to Beer~Sheba, and Abraham is dwelling in
Beer~Sheba.
20 and he is becoming after the
things the these and he is being told to Abraham to say of: behold, she gave birth
Milcah, moreover she, sons for Nahor, your brother! 21 Uz, his firstborn, and
Buz, his brother, and Kemuel, father of Aram. 22 and Chesed,
and Hazu, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel. 23 and Bethuel generated Rebecca; these
eight Milcah gave birth for Nahor, brother of Abraham. 24 and his concubine, and
her name Reumah, and she is giving birth, moreover she: Tebah
and Gaham and Thahash and Maachah.
